Colorado Springs First!

Parth Melpakam

Dear friends,

I am Parth Melpakam – husband, father, community leader, and an engineer with over 25 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry. I am running for City Council District 6, and hope in the coming weeks to earn your support.

The worrisome state of K-12 public education led me to run for the Colorado Springs School District 11 Board of Education in 2019, and for re-election in 2023. I’ve served as the D11 Board President for the past three years, alongside a board and administration focused on improving student outcomes and overall district performance. The district has made incredible strides, and it required bold, principled leadership rooted in accountability and innovation to pave the way for D11 to improve.

It also required our faithful dedication to a simple motto: Putting Students First. It is with a similarly simple motto that I will approach City Council: Colorado Springs First. As your representative, my decisions will be guided by the best interest of our families and of our city.

It is the dynamic vision of building a safe, healthy, and thriving city that is driving me to run to be your City Council member for District 6. I have built relationships in the Colorado Springs community by listening respectfully, collaborating thoughtfully, and weighing all perspectives objectively while making informed, balanced decisions.  As a limited-government conservative, I will advocate for a city budget focused on providing core essential services and eliminating inefficiencies.  I will bring proven leadership skills with a commitment to common-sense solutions to the challenges facing our city.

I look forward to connecting with you during this campaign and to the opportunity to earn your support.

Sincerely,
